Long exposure light trails (group project – challenge no.2)
For the second project challenge in the photography group we tried out some long exposure light trails. For this I thought traffic lights would be perfect. We went to the centre of town on a night when it was absolutely freezing, and proceeded to take photos of the traffic whizzing past under an overpass, next to the train station. Disappointingly, not a lot of traffic passed under us at this time, even though it was rush hour, or just after. After like 45 minutes I could no longer feel my toes so we went for dinner instead! Perhaps doing this during an evening in springtime or summertime would have been…

Snowy Hovdala castle and archaeology memories
During last weekend I went off on a little excursion, to take some winter photos before this cold season ends. And that was apparently a good idea, because currently, its +5 degrees and the snow, which was lying so thick and beautiful, has melted completely! Oh well, I guess now we only have to wait “a few” months till springtime comes around! The Hovdala castle buildings have been placed on the same location for many hundred years, outside of Hässleholm in eastern Skåne. Because of it’s location, it played an important role during the Swedish- Danish wars during the 1600’s. I’ve visited the site on several occasions, and also participated…

Walking the dog, ehm the cat!
Winter has well and truly hit! Today it was roughly -14°c. ❄⛄ Those sort of temperatures tend to make the hairs in in my nose freeze to ice lol! It turns out at least one of the cats who occupie the house with us, actually likes the snow! Who would have thought? Ragnar is also pretty good at acting like a dog, ie I can take him for a walk..he followed me around, bounding through the snow, sat down and waited whilst I snapped some photos of him, and even tasted some of the white stuff.. 🐯😊

Ramlosa gardens in winter garb [Ramlösa Brunnspark i vinterskrud]
Happy New Year! Hope your holiday celebrations were satisfactory <3 I had a very quiet & peaceful Christmas, but I did definitely miss the snow, because there was not one flake of the white stuff on the ground! In fact, I think it was about 8+ degrees. And I supposedly live in Sweden…?! Well, in the last few days plenty of snow has fallen, so today me & the hubby took a long walk with the cameras, yay! If you recognize the name “Ramlösa” it’s probably because you have had a bottle of the mineral water with the same name. The water was originally sourced here, from underground wells. People…

Waiting for snow?
I am a great believer in seasons. I like it when a season has it’s corresponding weather, so right now it should really be winter, at least in the northern hemisphere!? But where is it? We are going towards the end of January and so far we have had only one day of snow here, in the south of Sweden. It was a wee dusting of the white stuff, so not much at all! Some people do not like snow and especially not when it’s cold – but I enjoy it. I am asthmatic, so cold weather for me is like a holiday for my lungs ha ha! So, while…
