  • Rediscovering forgotten photographs

    21 April, 2021 / 0 Comments

In this blog post I talk about what happens when you are forced to change your routines and using equipment you aren’t used too, as well as not looking at photographs you’ve taken, until years later. Sometime back in October 2019, I borrowed a Sony A7 II and took it for a field test in a local wildlife park. This location is beautiful during autumn, and everything was dressed in the lush greens, oranges and reds of the season on this day. The sun peered through the trees and illuminated mushrooms, mossy tree trunks and the water running down the stream. I felt a bit bewildered using the camera, as…

  • Wide angle landscapes at Arild with the NiSi 15mm f4

    14 April, 2021 / 0 Comments

Just recently I got a new lens, a 15 mm f4 NiSi prime wide angle. I have never previously owned a wide angle lens, so I´m very pleased to try this one out. A wide lens is the go-to for many landscape photographers, but of course you don´t need one to create dramatic panoramic landscapes, it just helps a lot. My standard Canon ef 25-105mm f4 IS USM has been my favourite and most used lens for over ten years, but lately I started feeling I wanted to grow my landscape photography a bit. To do a really wide landscape with this lens, I have to take several photos and…

  • Where vintage cars go to die

    7 April, 2021 / 0 Comments

Deep in the forests of Småland in the south of Sweden, lies a magical place, littered with the remains of gutted and rusty old vehicles. In what is affectionally referred to as a car “cemetery”, the cars, tractors, bicycles and buses lie here, in waiting for the eternal rest – whatever that entails for rusty metal. When you first arrive at Kyrkö Mosse and walk down a narrow, winding trail that leads you right to the heart of a charming fir woodland, its almost unbelievable what you actually see. The sides of the path is lined with vintage cars sadly shrunken into the ground, some on their sides, and its…

  • When things get in the way of your composition

    1 February, 2019 / 0 Comments

Sometimes you just have to get out and create some pictures, even if it’s a cold winter morning, and you’re not sure why you are doing it. I headed to Råå harbour, in the south of Helsingborg, on a quiet morning. The sun had not yet risen, and as it turned out, was never going to. But don’t let the gray mood spoil your lust for photography! Side by side the little boats lie in the silent water, next to red and blue little fishing huts, and the only people keeping me company are dog walkers. And the seagulls of course. You can’t get away from the gulls when you…

My goodness, it’s been forever since I wrote a blog for you! Lot’s and lot’s of stuff has been going on, a lot has changed for me in regards to photography in the last couple of years! I have unfortunately lacked motivation to keep up with the blog, but my love for photography has only increased and I think it’s only fair that I share some of that with you. So expect there to be a substantial increase in activity around here from now on! I have several pieces about photography, tips & tricks and inspiration heading your way soon!! To start of, I wanted to share some pictures of…

  • Long exposure light trails (group project – challenge no.2)

    8 March, 2016 / 0 Comments

For the second project challenge in the photography group we tried out some long exposure light trails. For this I thought traffic lights would be perfect. We went to the centre of town on a night when it was absolutely freezing, and proceeded to take photos of the traffic whizzing past under an overpass, next to the train station. Disappointingly, not a lot of traffic passed under us at this time, even though it was rush hour, or just after. After like 45 minutes I could no longer feel my toes so we went for dinner instead!  Perhaps doing this during an evening in springtime or summertime would have been…

  • Abstract photography (Photo group project – challenge no. 1)

    16 February, 2016 / 0 Comments

What is an abstract photograph? Well it can be so many things, which is what makes it such a great genre. Your only real limitation is your imagination! What camera or computer you have, is less important, because what you see is what is important, if we are talking general terms. So what do I look for? Abstracts can be found anywhere, in nature, in your home, at work.. I look for colours, shapes, patterns.. Things that don’t look like something you are instantly familiar with: a cloudy sky, a close crop of a rug, the many shapes found in nature make great abstract images! It can be blurry, out…

  • Creative goals of 2016 – how to stay organised and creative in the new year.

    11 February, 2016 / 0 Comments

As a creative person it is sometimes a challenge to stay organised and come up with new ideas at the same time. Some people have superb abilities to do this, I’m not sure how, but I would love to get better at it! Ideas float in and out of my head like a yo-yo sometimes, so I need tools to make them stay, because I have a superbly short memory :-S So I use lists & notebooks, digital as well as paper ones. Around my home and workspace I probably have 10+ notebooks lying about. Some are full, but I keep them to be able to go back and glance…

  • Santorini old friend – travel photography in Greece

    3 February, 2016 / 0 Comments

Santorini island in the Aegean cluster of Greece, is an absolute favourite destination. Of my husbands! He talks about our trips there often, and could probably go back every year if he could. With it’s dwindling cliffs and white washed stone houses, it really is the quintessential location for travel photography. It also has some very interesting archaeological sites that can be visited, and if you like wine, you’re in luck! Santorini wine, particularly the white semi-dry, is delicious. Lol now I’m starting to sound like a walking Santorini -advertisment! My personal favourite when food shopping in Santorini, is that you can get fresh, local wine from a tap in…

  • Snowy Hovdala castle and archaeology memories

    31 January, 2016 / 0 Comments

During last weekend I went off on a little excursion, to take some winter photos before this cold season ends. And that was apparently a good idea, because currently, its +5 degrees and the snow, which was lying so thick and beautiful, has melted completely! Oh well, I guess now we only have to wait “a few” months till springtime comes around! The Hovdala castle buildings have been placed on the same location for many hundred years, outside of Hässleholm in eastern Skåne. Because of it’s location, it played an important role during the Swedish- Danish wars during the 1600’s. I’ve visited the site on several occasions, and also participated…
